Is white noise effective in helping newborns sleep? (feat. White Noise Generator)








Newborn babies sleep a lot during the first few months, usually babies spend more time sleeping than awake. Adequate sleep is essential for a child's health and development. In fact, good sleep habits start from birth. 

Even if babies begin to sleep well at night, they sometimes have difficulty falling asleep after waking up during the night time. Baby who do not get enough sleep may have trouble functioning during the day time. So, sleep well is really important to a baby. 

White Noise mean


 


White noise is sound, especially of a continuous kind, that seems to have no pattern or rhythm. Simple to say, it can be intense and high-pitched, like a fan, vacuum or low-pitched like forest, winds, sea or water-drop. These kind of sound actually bring psychological stability and promote sleep. 



White Noise not only helpful to babies, these days adults face a lot of stress and sometimes have difficulty falling asleep or suffering from insomnia. This kind of white noise can actually do help adults as well.

Is white noise really good 

for newborns' sleep?


White noise is commonly known to help with concentration that has a unique frequency that covers other noises.

According to a study by the Korean Society of Industrial Psychology, it was reported that white noise help to improve concentration by 47.7% and memory by 9.6%.

It is said that newborns perceive white noise with a certain frequency, such as the pounding heartbeat they heard in their mother's womb or the sound of blood flowing through blood vessels which they're used to it for several months. So, if play a noise similar to this, can naturally induce the newborn to sleep well. 


 Let’s talk about these concerns and how the safe use of sound machines prevents any of these issues

01. Not all babies respond well to white noise and effectively induce sleep!

Your baby may feel uncomfortable or reluctant, so be sure to watch and use it slowly.

02. Be sure to check the decibel too!

The white noise usually recommended for newborns is 50db decibel. Please use a white noise machine with a checkable decibel level or follow the instructions when using YouTube.

03. Need enough sleep!

​If baby is exposed to white noise for a long period of time, it can strain their hearing, so we recommend letting them rest their ears for longer than the listening time, or reducing or turning off the noise after the baby falls asleep!
